Trade tips

  • Leave the top and bottom of a can design clear of the rims, where artwork distorts.
  • Short runs of cans usually use a printed sleeve or label instead of printing on the metal.
  • Cans are printed straight on metal: white is a separate underprint, or colours show the metal through.
  • Gloss lamination deepens colours but shows fingerprints and glare under shelf lights.
