A brochure splits content across panels: the tri-fold is the most common for profiles and menus; the Z-fold suits step-by-step content and maps; the gate-fold opens to a wide centre spread — favoured by real estate and luxury hotels.
Yes. Turning it in 3D, setting your own size and designing on it are free in the browser, and commercial and client work is allowed. On the Free plan 3D mockups carry a Drint watermark grid and pictures export at 1K; Pro removes the watermark and adds 4K pictures and 2K video.
Yes. Type your size in mm and the mockup is rebuilt to scale, with its dieline.
Yes. The die is drawn at the size you type. A free account downloads one SVG dieline a month; PDF / AI needs Pro; Pro has unlimited dielines, DXF / CF2 for the die-maker and the CMYK print PDF.
Yes. “Use this mockup” opens it in Drint 3D Studio, where you stage it with other products, props and light and export pictures or video.
A sheet printed both sides, creased and folded into panels: bi-fold (4 panels), roll-fold tri-fold (6), Z-fold (6, opening like an accordion), gate-fold (two flaps opening sideways), multi-panel accordion. Folded by machine or by hand.
120–170 gsm coated paper is common; above about 170 gsm, crease before folding so the paper doesn't crack at the fold, especially on dark solids. 150–250 gsm fine paper for folded cards.
Matt lamination or varnish makes a brochure durable and pleasant to hold; laminating heavy paper needs careful creasing so the film doesn't crack. Foil for festive folded cards.
Roll-fold tri-fold: the panel that folds inside must be about 2–3 mm narrower (A4 is usually split 100 / 100 / 97 mm) so it folds without buckling. Put front and back panels in the right order on the file — the front cover is on the outside, right-hand column. Keep type at least 4–5 mm from folds.
A tri-fold rolls both side panels inward and opens in sequence like a story; a Z-fold pleats like an accordion and opens to three joined panels, good for maps and processes.
150 gsm balances a firm feel with easy folding; heavier needs creasing and costs more, lighter looks like a cheap flyer.
Fold a blank sheet, number the panels and open it out; or check a 3D folding mockup before printing.
