How to use this mockup

  1. Start from the 200 × 80 × 100 mm sample or type your own size.
  2. Open it in Drint on its real dieline and place your artwork on the die — bleed and folds are already drawn.
  3. Turn it in 3D to check every side, then export a picture or a video, or stage it with props and light in Drint 3D Studio.

Trade tips

  • Check the text direction on the side panels when folded: it is easy to end up upside down on a flat die.
  • Put the main design on the face the shopper sees first on the shelf, not on the lid.
  • Ivory board prints best on its coated face; keep the uncoated inside to one colour.
  • Design straight on the die at your size: cut, crease and bleed are already drawn, so the printer can work from your file.

Questions

Is the sleeve with double-folded edge mockup free?

Yes. Turning it in 3D, setting your own size and designing on it are free in the browser, and commercial and client work is allowed. On the Free plan 3D mockups carry a Drint watermark grid and pictures export at 1K; Pro removes the watermark and adds 4K pictures and 2K video.

Can I use my own size for the sleeve with double-folded edge?

Yes. Type your size in mm and the mockup is rebuilt to scale, with its dieline.

Can I get the sleeve with double-folded edge dieline for printing?

Yes. The die is drawn at the size you type. A free account downloads one SVG dieline a month; PDF / AI needs Pro; Pro has unlimited dielines, DXF / CF2 for the die-maker and the CMYK print PDF.

Can I put the sleeve with double-folded edge in a scene with other products?

Yes. “Use this mockup” opens it in Drint 3D Studio, where you stage it with other products, props and light and export pictures or video.

Construction

A printed strip, either glued into an open-ended tube (a sleeve) that slides over a box or tray, or wrapped around and closed with a locking tab or glue. A coffee cup sleeve is a curved fan shape glued into a cone ring. A sleeve fits snugly: inside circumference equals the box's plus 1–2 mm.

Choosing board and material

Coated or ivory board of 250–350 gsm is usual; kraft for a natural look. Heat sleeves for cups usually use ribbed board or micro-flute (E, F) to insulate. Food sleeves don't touch the food directly, so ordinary board is fine.

Finishing

Laminate so edges don't fray when the sleeve slides on and off; foil and spot UV for gift lines. Sleeves on chilled trays (sushi, cakes) should be laminated against moisture.

Preparing the print file

Design it as one long band with the folds at the box's four edges: put the main face exactly on the box front and leave a 10–15 mm glue zone without ink or lamination. Sleeves change by season or flavour, so keep a common layout grid and swap only colour and text. Measure the real box, including any protruding plastic lid.

Common mistakes

  • Using the box's exact circumference: the sleeve won't slide on or tears when pulled.
  • A sleeve that's too loose: it slips off in transit and the main face drifts.
  • Key type right on an edge fold: it breaks in two.

Questions and answers

Can a paper sleeve replace a printed box?

With plastic trays or plain stock boxes, a sleeve is the cheapest way to carry the brand and label information; but it doesn't protect the product like a box.

Glued tube or wrap-around with a lock?

A glued tube slides on fast on a line; a wrap-around with a locking tab copes with slightly varying box sizes and ships flat neatly.

Can label information go on a sleeve?

Yes, if the sleeve is the retail packaging that reaches the buyer; put mandatory label content on the back or underside of the sleeve.
